Honest comparison

OneCast Studio vs Pixieset

Pixieset built the prettiest gallery on the internet. OneCast builds the whole studio around the gallery: quotes, invoices, video review and a portal your clients live in.

The short version

Pixieset is a gallery-first suite: beautiful client galleries, a print store, and a lighter Studio Manager CRM bolted alongside. If you mostly deliver photos and sell prints, it is genuinely excellent. OneCast Studio comes at it from the other direction: one system where the portal, quotes, invoices, bookings, galleries and video review are the same product, with native Xero and Australian hosting. Photographers who also shoot video, or who are tired of stitching Studio Manager to the rest of their admin, are the ones who switch.

Side by side.

What each platform actually ships today. Where Pixieset is stronger, we say so.

Coming from Pixieset?

Here is how studios usually move in. Most are done inside an afternoon.

1

Start a free OneCast trial and set your logo and brand colour; your portal and gallery pages pick it up instantly.

2

Keep Pixieset live for galleries already delivered; nothing breaks by running both during the switch.

3

Add your active clients, or connect Xero and import contacts from there in one pull.

4

Upload the galleries for in-flight projects to OneCast and send clients the new portal link.

5

Once the last old gallery expires, downgrade or cancel Pixieset. Most studios run both for one delivery cycle.

This is a game changer. All in one platform for Photo and Video creatives, even production agencies! You’ve gotta give this a try!

Common questions.

Can OneCast replace Pixieset completely?

For galleries, delivery, quotes, invoicing and bookings, yes. If print and album sales through an integrated lab store are a big part of your revenue, keep Pixieset for that piece; OneCast does not have a print store today.

Do my clients need accounts to see their gallery?

No. Clients open galleries and portals through a private link with optional PIN protection, and for weddings, guests can upload their own phone photos to a shared gallery you control.

Is there a download gate like Pixieset digital sales?

Yes. You can gate final downloads behind payment, so the gallery goes out the same night and files unlock when the invoice is paid.

What happens to galleries my clients already have on Pixieset?

They keep working; Pixieset hosts them as long as your plan is active. Most studios let old galleries ride out their expiry on Pixieset and deliver new work through OneCast.

Does OneCast handle video better than Pixieset?

That is the biggest difference. Pixieset hosts video with plan-capped hours and no feedback tools. OneCast has a review player with frame-accurate comments, version compare and client approvals built in.
