Honest comparison

OneCast Studio vs Sprout Studio

Sprout Studio had the right idea: everything in one place. OneCast executes it with video review, native Xero, Australian hosting and an interface your clients will compliment.

Loved the first pass — can we brighten the opening scene a touch?
The short version

Sprout Studio is the closest philosophical competitor here: a true all-in-one for photographers spanning CRM, booking, galleries and album proofing. The idea is right. The execution draws consistent complaints in reviews: slow load times, a steep setup curve, emails sent from a sproutstudio.com address, and accounting integrations that only exist through Zapier. OneCast Studio makes the same all-in-one bet with video review included, invoices that push natively to Xero, AUD pricing with GST, Sydney hosting and a client-facing experience we obsess over. Sprout still wins on album proofing and built-in email marketing, and we list that honestly below.

Side by side.

What each platform actually ships today. Where Sprout Studio is stronger, we say so.

Why creators switch to OneCast

Video is not an afterthought
Sprout has no video review at all. OneCast includes frame-accurate comments, versions, transcripts and approvals for hybrid photo and video studios.
Speed your clients can feel
The most common Sprout complaint in reviews is performance. OneCast is built on a modern stack and we treat load time as a feature.
Xero without duct tape
Sprout reaches accounting through Zapier. OneCast pushes invoices to Xero natively when you send them, with GST handled.
Emails from your name
OneCast sends client email with your studio branding, and the Studio Pro plan washes the platform out of the picture entirely.

Where Sprout Studio wins

Credit where it is due. If these are your priorities, Sprout Studio may fit you better today.

Album proofing and design workflows, which OneCast does not have.
Built-in email marketing campaigns; OneCast only sends transactional and delivery email today.
Slightly cheaper entry at $24 if your volume fits inside 10 active shoots and 50GB.
Commission-free print and product sales through its store.

Coming from Sprout Studio?

Here is how studios usually move in. Most are done inside an afternoon.

1

Export contacts from Sprout Studio, or connect Xero to OneCast and import from there.

2

Recreate packages and price list; this is usually the longest step and still fits in an afternoon.

3

Let delivered Sprout galleries ride out their expiry while new deliveries go through OneCast.

4

Rebuild your booking availability in OneCast and update any embedded booking links on your website.

5

Run both for one delivery cycle, then cancel Sprout.

This is a game changer. All in one platform for Photo and Video creatives, even production agencies! You’ve gotta give this a try!

Common questions.

Both claim all-in-one. What is actually different?

Three things: OneCast includes frame-accurate video review, integrates natively with Xero instead of via Zapier, and is Australian-hosted with AUD GST-inclusive pricing. Sprout counters with album proofing and email marketing, which we do not have.

Does OneCast cap active shoots?

Starter caps active clients at 5; Studio raises that to 10 clients and 25 active projects, with 2TB storage. Studio Pro removes both caps entirely.

Can I sell prints through OneCast like Sprout?

No. OneCast gates digital delivery behind payment but has no print store or lab fulfilment. If print sales matter, that is a genuine Sprout advantage.

How long does switching take?

Most studios do branding, packages and active clients in an afternoon, then migrate naturally as new projects start. The sandbox at onecast.studio/demo lets you rehearse first.
